Hi @KDICE88,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you might be dealing with an app that's not compatible with your current version of Windows or hardware. Here’s a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot the issue.
Identify the Problematic App
- Check Event Viewer: Open Event Viewer (Win + X > Event Viewer) and look for any errors or warnings related to app crashes or issues. This might give you a clue about which app is causing the problem.
- Task Manager: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and look for any apps running in the background that might be causing the issue. Sometimes, the problematic app might be listed there.
Update or Reinstall the App
- Update Apps: Make sure all your apps are up to date. Go to the Microsoft Store or the app’s official website to check for updates.
- Reinstall Apps: If you can identify the app causing the problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
Check for Windows Updates
- Windows Update: Ensure that Windows is fully updated. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
Compatibility Mode
- Run in Compatibility Mode: Right-click the app’s executable file, select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and try running the app in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows.
Check System Requirements
- Verify Compatibility: Make sure the app is compatible with your system’s architecture (32-bit vs. 64-bit) and meets any other system requirements specified by the app.
Check for Corrupted System Files
- Run SFC and DISM: Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands to check and repair corrupted system files:
sfc /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Check for Software Conflicts
- Clean Boot: Perform a clean boot to see if a background application or service is causing the issue. Type msconfig in the search box, go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and then click Disable all. Restart your PC and see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
