Consuming tooo much mobile data. When I go to data usage it says system has used 70%. I switched off

A laptop can connect to the Internet using any of three ways:

1) Ethernet -- network cable connects to your PC from your Router

2) WiFi -- you connect to your internal network using an SSID broadcast by your Router

3) HotSpot (Mobile Broadband)-- you connect to the Internet over a cell network

Of these, only the third uses mobile data -- and using that connection, there is no way to prevent it
