Hi @rahul1432,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing an intrusive noise resembling a notification alert on your HP14s laptop, there are a few steps you can take to identify and resolve the issue.

Check System Sounds:

  • Go to the system sound settings on your laptop.
  • Review and customize notification sounds to make sure the unwanted noise is not coming from the system itself.
  • Look for any settings related to notifications or alerts and adjust them as needed.

Review Installed Applications:

  • Check the applications installed on your laptop. Some applications may have their own notification sounds.
  • Open the settings or preferences of each application and look for notification settings.
  • Disable or customize notifications for applications that might be causing the disturbance.

Task Manager:

  • Open the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to see if any background processes or applications are running that might be causing the sound.
  • Check for any unfamiliar or unnecessary processes and close them to see if the noise persists.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that your audio drivers are up-to-date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause unexpected audio issues.
  • Go to the HP support website for your laptop model, download the latest audio drivers, and install them.

Windows Update:

  • Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, system updates can address various issues, including sound-related problems.
  • Check for Windows updates and install any pending updates.

External Devices:

  • Disconnect any external devices (such as USB drives, printers, etc.) to check if the noise is related to one of these devices.
  • Reconnect devices one by one to identify the culprit if the noise returns.

Check for Malware:

  • Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to rule out the possibility of malware causing unwanted sounds.

Reset Sound Settings:

  • If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your sound settings to default.
  • Go to Sound settings, find the option to reset or restore sound settings, and follow the instructions.

By systematically going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue causing the intrusive notification-like noise on your HP14s laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
