Ok I know this is a constant issue here and ive yet to see any posts on the actual driver to be installed during windows installation be it 10 or 11 . Paul has given links to service packs none of which have resolved this issue. This is the 3rd HP computer ive run into this issue with.  This last one is a laptop

I have actually purchased a "TECH support" plan and for $17 he guy wants to say oh just bring it to the service center?? THATS Tech support ?

I just need the drivers to enable this laptop to SEE the drive to install to (pre install) Paul had posted a step by step but MAGICALLY that page is no longer available.  Tis is beyond pathetic that customers purchase these products and neither they nor me can simply reinstall an OS of my choice .

See if this works...

I zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers below so Windows can find the drive.

Copy all of the files in both folders in the attached file to a USB flash drive.

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next and if those are the right drivers Windows should find the drive and install.

You're very welcome.

Install the free Showkey plus app from the Microsoft store and it should show you the Windows OEM product key and the version of W11 the key is good for.

Use the OEM product key to activate Windows.
