Thank you!  This worked on recent update that caused flashing cursor.  I had been thrilled to see the update fixed the simple pass so I could once again use a feature that I had paid for! Unfortunately, this fix caused a bigger problem:  flashing cursor.  I was about to throw the pc at the wall, so thank you for saving my sanity 🙂

I'm also getting this on a new Spectre x360 with no fingerprint reader, so no simple pass.

Here's a video, it's like someone is holding down right click and enter:

Tempted to just return the Spectre and swap for a Lennovo Yoga 900 as this is really affecting my ability to work.

Is there no one from HP commenting on this thread with ideas other than SimplePass?

Recently purchased HP Spectre x360 and almost immediately the screen is flickering. All windows and HP updates installed. It gets an opaque circle then goes in to a clicking frenzy. Sometimes it has a rectangle with the mouse stuck in it.

I understand that you are getting a blinking cursor on you new Spectre x 360.  Have you checked for Windows updates as that has resolved the issue for some. Have you run the HP Support Assistant?  Have you checked the settings? Here is a link to HP Notebook PCs - Using the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 10) that may also help. Have you run the Windows troubleshooter?  Please keep me apprised of your progress.

That's so much for the helpful information on this topic. My HP Envy dv6 computer develpoed this problem about 3 weeks ago and was driving me mad as I couldn't use any drop down lists. I have now deleted the HP Simple Pass app and the cursor no longer flickers.

Were you able to resolve this issue?

The only (temp) solution that I have is to close the screen lid and re-open.  However that doesnt work well when in the middle of a longer process.
