Hello everyone, my fairly new HP Spectre has an amazing touchpad which is huge and feels good to use, but I have noticed an issue since the day I bought the laptop. Sometimes, randomly, whenever I'm using the touchpad, the mouse cursor responds sluggish. When I stop moving my finger, the cursor refuses to stop and surfs in the same direction for about 1-2mm. It is very annoying and feels like I'm driving a car with no grips in the tire making it drift out of control. I am unable to move my cursor with my normal quick speed. I had noticed this issue in the demo-unit of HP Spectre in an offline shop while buying and thought it might be some outdated drivers, but my drivers are up-to date. I am not sure what to do about it, and I have already seen that this is not an issue specific to my Spectre. I am hoping this is a software issue and might get resolved in the future. Any suggestions might be helpful. Thanks

Hi @Vedant_01,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with the touchpad sensitivity or tracking on your HP Spectre x360, where the cursor becomes sluggish or continues drifting after you lift your finger. This can be frustrating, but there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
Step 1: BIOS Restore :
1) Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in
2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK
Step 2: Touchpad Settings Adjustment
Sometimes the touchpad settings, especially the sensitivity and motion settings, can cause erratic behaviour. You can adjust these settings by following these steps:
- Open the Settings app: Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Devices > Touchpad.
- Adjust the sensitivity and pointer speed. Try setting the sensitivity to Medium or Low and check if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
