Recently Omen gaming hub broke down for me and would only launch ONCE, and then just refuse to. Its background process also didnt appear so i was stuck with stock, BIOS- driven fan curve configuration. To resolve this problem, i went to bios to change the said configuration. And i couldnt. There is no way to control the fans of almost a 3 thousand euro laptop without a stupid windows app always running in the background. It also means that there is no way to do so on other OS that are not Windows. I updated the BIOS, but of course it didnt help.
The app doesnt fix itself, doesnt matter how many times i reinstall or relaunch it.
So my question is - how do i control my fans through BIOS and protect my precious piece of consumer technology from melting down during the most basic tasks?
I've got an HP OMEN 17-ck2xxx.

Hi @tandrad,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I Understand your concern about Customer fan curve, don’t worry let me help you with this.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
- When Omen Gaming Hub fails to launch, do you see any error messages or does it simply not open?
- Have you noticed if the background service Omen Command Center Service is running in Task Manager?
- Are you using Windows 11, and is it fully updated?
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try right away:
- Repair Omen Gaming Hub via Microsoft Store
- Open the Microsoft Store → Library → locate Omen Gaming Hub → click Repair or Reset.
- This often resolves issues where the app launches once and then fails.
- Check HP System Event Utility & Drivers
- Omen Gaming Hub depends on HP drivers and services. Visit HP Support and reinstall/update:
- HP System Event Utility
- Omen Gaming Hub driver package
- BIOS and chipset drivers
- Verify Services
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Task Manager → Services tab.
- Look for Omen Command Center Service. If it’s stopped, try starting it manually.
- Clean Reinstall
- Uninstall Omen Gaming Hub completely.
- Delete leftover folders in C:\Program Files\HP\OMEN Gaming Hub and C:\ProgramData\HP\OMEN.
- Reinstall fresh from the Microsoft Store.
Please note Unfortunately, HP laptops including the OMEN 17‑ck2xxx don’t expose fan curve customization in BIOS. The Omen Gaming Hub is currently the only supported way to adjust fan profiles.
I hope this helps.

Greetings. Unfortunately none of this helped. I have also given up on trying to set up fan control with another OS on this laptop. Even though Gaming hub still doesnt open, i am able to use my laptop with the fan curve i made before it stopped opening. I imagine it will one day magically fix itself just the way it magically broke itself.
I am closing this issue. Thanks for reaching out to me personally, for some reason i didnt get the emails about the previous replies.
