I purchased a custom build laptop in January 2020.  It is now February 20.  Anticipated delivery has been delayed to March 2020.  Does anyone know what is causing the delay?

I'm sorry, but this is just a self-help Community forum staffed mostly by volunteers -- and we have no access to customer order or shipping information.

You will need to contact where you bought the PC to explore the shipping situation and delays.

Thanks and I understand.  I purchased the laptop from hp.com.  I have contacted HP regarding the delay.  They do not provide any information, just that the shipment is delayed.  I thought perhaps someone had knowledge/rumors whether coronavirus issues or some other supply chain issues were causing delays.

I'm in the same boat. Ordered ZBook CTO on January 9th, with a January 27th estimated ship date. That slipped to February 27th. Systems with the same configuration, ordered today, are showing a March 11th ship date estimate. The HP team in Boise (SMB type unit) advise the delay is due to lack of Intel processors. Intel has had production problems since 2018. Some manufacturers are beginning to switch to AMD. I trusted that HP had sufficient supplies, as they were advertising these systems. Now, after being an HP customer for 24 years, I'm concerned.

Also, an excellent source of news about the supply side of this industry is digitimes.com , where you can get good quality news on COVID-19 impact on laptop production, etc.
