- Currently in Windows 10 Home version 1909 build SO 18363.476;
- DVD Hardware hp DVDRW GUB0N.
I have long since de-installed the bundled Cyberlink multimedia software and bought Power2Go but it didn't work and returned it and uninstalled it with other authoring software that I have always uninstalled because they didn't work.
The goal was simply to burn DVDs with movie (mp4).
No problems playing (commercial and not) DVDs and is recognized by Windows 10.
After all the failures I decide to use the (simple?) drag and drop burning of Windows 10 through Explorer. with these steps:
- I insert DVD-R (Sony of excellent quality);
- Windows asks what to do and I choose to burn DVDs;
- Drag and drop files (mp4) on the burning folder;
- Click on the "Complete Burn" button of "Disc Tools";
- Burning begins by opening the appropriate window.
But the Hard Disk LED light is continuously lit and I feel that the optical unit is working, but in "Activity management" the Hard Disk shows 0% of activity (?).
Finally, an error is reported from the Windows mastering window that has reached 11% after a certain time.
The further problem is that it is no longer possible to stop the optical drive, nor the hard disk, nor to eject the DVD, forcing the PC to shut down completely.
Thanks for every suggestion.
