Hi @vicky_k_makwana,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing the details. You’re using an HP 15.6" Laptop PC 15-fd0000 (Product Number: B61ZHPA#ACJ) and facing an issue where time sync fails in the Date & Time settings, even after:

  • Changing time servers
  • Disabling firewall
  • Multiple attempts

Let’s troubleshoot this step-by-step:

1. Check Windows Time Service

Make sure the service is running:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find Windows Time.
  • Right-click > Properties > Set Startup type to Automatic.
  • Click Start if it's not running.

2. Use Command Prompt to Force Sync

Try syncing manually: w32tm /resync

If it fails, try: net stop w32time
                          w32tm /unregister
                          w32tm /register
                          net start w32time

Then retry w32tm /resync.

3. Try a Different Time Server

Use a reliable server like:

  • time.windows.com
  • time.nist.gov
  • pool.ntp.org

Go to Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time > Additional settings > Internet Time.

4. Check for Group Policy Restrictions

If you're on a domain or corporate network:

  • Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc
  • Navigate to:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Windows Time Service
  • Ensure no policies are blocking sync.

5. Check for BIOS Time Drift

If your BIOS clock is incorrect, Windows may fail to sync. Restart and enter BIOS (usually Esc, F10, or Del) and check the time.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
