HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0068ax

Since about a week ago I noticed that my laptop would run extremely slow whenever I would try to do any significant multitasking, which the laptop used to be perfectly able to handle before. It now also is barely able to run games which it used to not struggle on before, such as now only being able to run League of Legends at 20-30 fps. However, when I disable my dedicated GPU (GTX 1660 ti Max-Q) through the device manager, the overall performance of my laptop is better and I can run League of Legends reasonably. Disabling my dedicated GPU means that I can't use any external monitors and I can't run games nearly as well as I used to.

My main question is , "Is my dedicated GPU screwed and should I give up? Or is there a way that I'm able to fix this?".

Here is a list of things that I've tried doing already:

  • Factory reset and reinstalling windows
  • Checked hardware health using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Tool
  • Updated drivers and BIOS
  • Scanned for viruses and malware
  • Checked temperatures for thermal throttling
