Hi,
I'm assuming once I have Windows Precision touchpad driver working on a laptop that didn't originally come with it (but is capable of utilizing it, such as the HP Envy 13 as discussed in this reddit post), and then I decide to do a clean installation of Windows OS, the system will install the Synaptics driver by default, correct? Or will the newer Windows "service packs" (sorry for the ignorance in terminology) detect and install the newer Precision driver?
If a laptop that utilizes the Precision driver by default receives a clean installation of Windows, will it automatically install the Precision driver or the Synaptics driver?
Will I always have to jump through these kinds of hoops (as discussed on reddit) with the laptop until I actually get a laptop that is advertised/comes with the Precision driver from the factory?
Thanks.

No it won't, It will reinstall driver and software from HP.

Thanks for your response. Where does the laptop download the drivers? Are they built into the laptop? Or is it downloaded over the network?
Do you reckon HP will provide updated drivers on their website in the future (specifically replacing Synaptics with Precision) for those models that originally weren't advertised/configured with Precision, but are able to use Precision?
Thanks.
