Hi, I'm trying to free up space on my HP Stream, so I want to delete hiberfil.sys. However, I am unable to do so. The best direction I got was to go to the command prompt and type in the correct key/code. I did so, but got a message saying something like "An unexpected error occurred. You may not have permission to perform this action." I'm the owner of the laptop, but I dont know how to convince the system that I should have permission.
Please help. Thanks for your time.

But please consider before delete it.

It's your PC -- it's your choice -- but that was a radical step that, had it been mine, I would NOT have taken.
Why?
Because there are better options for removing files that are clogging the disk ...

Also, the community Win10 Forums has the following suggestions:

In addition, I have found the utility Cleanmgr+ to have LOTS of options for removing Windows junk, including log files. I use it practically every day. You can get it from here: https://www.getclone.app/download/category/11-cleanmgr
