Hi HP community,
A couple of weeks ago I tried installing an old game via Steam (Sacred Gold). On the first start of the game Steam tried installing an old Directx version (D3D9); the installation crashed. I don't know if it's connected to this issue but the problems started piling up after this. I'm not able to open Geforce Experience (black screen) and I can't run some games like Guild Wars 2 and Valheim. Other games like Cyberpunk and Last Epoch work just fine. Funny enough, the game that presumably caused all of this works as well now...
Geforce Experience:
Guild Wars 2:
It wants me to ensure that DirectX 11 and a current graphics driver is installed
Valheim:
Only white screen and no response. However, it works with Vulkan.
I already tried the following fixes:
- installed all Windows updates (including optional)
- Dxdiag
- Dxwebsetup.exe
- Updated graphics driver
- Reinstalled graphics driver
- Deinstalled graphics driver via DDU and reinstalled after
- CMD as administrator: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth + sfc /scannow
- registry clean up via CCleaner
- Windows repair via iso medium
- complete reset of the Laptop
Nothing worked so far. Do you have an idea what could have caused this (instead of my assumption) and how to solve this issue?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
joe-hahn
