I think it's ironic that you're suggesting not to provide any personal info, yet HP is taking data without making it clearly known without our knowledge, and not given the choice to opt-out. I just happened to come across randomly because of an unfamiliar icon I noticed in the hidden icons under System Tray.
It's B&W, has 3 horizontal bars and speaker. It did not have a label pop-up when I hovered over it (**** an HP utility, and the only icon across all the icons that were there, with that behavior ****) . So I clicked on the icon which opened HP Audio Switch. I clicked on the Title and then the notification is displayed. Someone else had mentioned HP Touchpoint Manager as another offender (link below),
Unlike most "reputable" and "honest" providers (still not to be trusted IMHO) who are transparent about the fact they're collecting data and providing the user a choice to opt-out, HP didn't. Nor was it disclosed in a user-friendly way. I say that because I have no doubt that it's buried in the HP's and/or Google's Privacy / Policy agreements.
I have no idea how long it's been there and based on my interpretation, we have no choice about HP's questionable data collection and sharing it with Google (BTW, get rid of Chrome for the same reasons, and more. Firefox seems to have the best privacy enforcement, Google Chrome the least)
And on top of it all, it shouldn't even be there. It appears that's it's intended only for business customers, and offered to them as "HP Device as a Service" (link below)
Now the important part, a solution... Uninstall all HP software using Control Panel:
go to Control Panel | Programs and Features | select the HP software to uninstall | either click on "Uninstall" above the software list, or right-click on the software name, then choose Uninstall from the pop-up | Click Yes
