Hp g5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I recently bought a laptop, hp g5. I did the windows installation, but I anytime I try to use the laptop, it just goes blank (Video tdr error).

Please do I need to update any driver? If so, what driver and how can I download the update? Thank you.

Hi,

Are you able to boot into Windows, or does it go blank before booting into Windows.

You will need to supply the full model or product number of your PC so that we can look at the specs, If you can also provide further info such as the CPU and if integrated or dedicated graphics.

I downloaded and installed it but the problem still persists.  The display adapter shows AMD Radeon (TM) R2 Graphics which is the same one I had before.

Here your Laptop's Support (Driver Download ) page. You can manually check... There are 5 drivers available.

Let me explain one thing though. Some windows 10 laptop are design to work like that. It starts HP logo appears and then screen goes blank ( turn off led lights )for seconds then boots normally. If you feel this is issue then you are wrong. Don't be panic. My Laptop works like that too!

Another thing I want to mention you that you said " I did installation"  .....  of what? Windows 7 or Windows 8 If you did this then sorry Your HP laptop only supports Windows 10.

If you feel what I said now is not your condition then please go to this link

This link will send you to the HP contact. As per your Laptop's warranty they will give you contact options like Call or Chat select one that you like and tell them clearly what the problem is...

Thank You. 🙂
