This is a fairly new laptop, and the docking station doesn't work on it via the USB C port. When I connect the docking station, I hear a beep but don't see the connection. In device manager, there is a yellow explanation mark on the USB: - Unknown USB Device, Port Reset Failed Error. I've already run the HP diagnostic tool and updated all recommended software drivers and firmware - no go.
I called HP support, but they were just passing my call from one team to another. None were interested in providing support. They finally connected me to the Smart Software support team, but they wanted me to pay for support even though my product is within warranty.
It feels like I made a mistake by buying an HP product.

What is your HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D120AV) machine ? It should have SAME ports as the following machine
Which shows it ONLY HAS 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT compatible with a standard USB-C dock.
Regards.
