My laptop is pretty slow but doesn’t have any virus’ that I know of, and it doesn’t have any games except for Roblox.

@Eve2209, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Yes, many HP laptops can run The Sims 4, but performance depends on your laptop’s hardware specs. Since you mentioned your laptop feels slow and currently only runs Roblox, let’s walk through a few steps to check compatibility and improve performance:

Check Minimum System Requirements for The Sims 4

Here’s what The Sims 4 needs at a minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3
  • RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended)
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or better, or a dedicated GPU like NVIDIA GeForce 820M or higher
  • Storage: At least 15 GB free space

You can compare these with your laptop’s specs by:

  • Pressing Windows + R, typing dxdiag, and hitting Enter
  • Checking the System and Display tabs for CPU, RAM, and graphics info

If you’re unsure, feel free to reply with your laptop’s model number (e.g., HP Pavilion 15-xxxx), and I’ll help you check!

Improve Performance

If your laptop meets the minimum specs but feels slow, here are some tips:

Update Windows and Drivers

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all updates
  • Use HP Support Assistant to update drivers automatically

Free Up Resources

  • Uninstall unused apps
  • Disable startup programs via Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc > Startup tab)

Upgrade RAM or SSD (if possible)

  • If your laptop has only 4 GB RAM or a slow hard drive, upgrading to 8 GB RAM or an SSD can make a big difference
  • You can check upgrade options on HP Customer Support – Product Specifications Official HP® Support

Install and Test The Sims 4

Once your system is ready:

  • You can buy/download The Sims 4 from EA App or Steam
  • Start with low graphics settings and adjust based on performance

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
