Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Your HP 14‑ep0524 (14‑ep0000 series) does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB‑C. That “Display connection might be limited…” warning pops up because although the port is USB‑C, it's only wired for data, not video output.
So what are your options?
1. Use HDMI (if available):
Connect your laptop to an external display via the HDMI port, which typically supports video output reliably.
2. USB‑A → external graphics (DisplayLink):
If you need multiple monitors, consider a USB‑A docking station using DisplayLink technology, which drives video via a USB‑A port with driver support.
3. External GPU with USB‑C video support:
Given the USB‑C port can’t output video, no adapter, however fancy, will change that. The physical wiring simply doesn’t carry DisplayPort signals.
