This is not the first time I have run into this problem.  I have a computer.  (HP seems bad about this) I insert my usb drive with the windows installer and boot the computer.  I get past the first few prompts and land on the select the drive to install it on page.  The problem is there is no drive listed.  I understand I need a driver and I know how to load it but how am I to know what driver is needed.  I go to the hp page for the computer in question and there are many options.  I assume it's for the intel speed store but I don't know.  If and when I do try one I usually get a lot of options and have yet to find one that works.  Is there a way to get the correct driver from the existing windows install?  What if the drive dies and I have to do this without the original disk?

Hi:

W10 should not need any Intel storage controller drivers in order to find the drive in your notebook.

I suggest that you use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive.

Since you have to use the tool on another PC to create the installation media, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window to create the recovery media.

Your PC's product number is: 2SS25UA#ABA

I have zipped up and attached the Intel RST drivers your notebook's drive controller would use if you want to clean install W10 anyway.
