HP Compaq nx8220 Notebook PC

I have recently purchased an HP Compaq nx8220 Notebook for legacy tasks. I've once downloaded the drivers several weeks ago without any issues, however now i can't access the driver downloads section for couple of days for some reason. It gives me an error 500 page with "HP Customer Support site is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please check back later." text.

I've tried these:

-Trying to access with another web browser

-With a different computer

-With a VPN

-With cellular network

None of them worked.

I don't know how to thank you enough, you are a lifesaver!

I've had an idea this morning. Since I don't trust third party driver web sites that much, i've decided to search for the softpaq numbers on the internet with the help of your past posts on the HP forum and the softpaq numbers on the driver site you've mentioned and have found the genuine files of the drivers from the HP's FTP server. Here's the list of what I need:

Intel Chipset Driver (sp29371.exe)

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp29001-29500/sp29371.exe

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35501-36000/sp35835.exe

HP Help and Support Center -another neat novelty-

That's happening to me too on all the older model notebooks and desktop PC's

I think HP is in the process of retiring support for any business PC model over 15 years old.

It's been like this for over a week, and HP surely would have fixed this by now.

If you need drivers for your notebook, this reputable 3rd party driver website that I use all the time has them.

HP Compaq nx8220 drivers (driverscollection.com)

Well, this is quite unfortunate. I was planning to use the notebook for some retro gaming and word processing on Windows XP, which works quite well and super lightweight for these tasks. I hope that's really not what they've been doing with them. I was thinking of archiving the drivers on a DVD too😞

But yeah, the driver site you've mentioned seems legitimate. There's still some hope i guess.
