I had to reinstall Envy 4520 printer. After installation, I get driver unavailable. Removed all software and reinstalled 3x now same message each time. Printer works with other computers in house. I ran HP scan and diagnose program. It downloaded "fix", but never loaded driver. I can print at another location on other HP printers, so only a problem with this printer's software.

Hello, @jmatt1
Appreciate your efforts!
It looks like an operating system issue with the machine. TRy to create a new local user and then try to install the printer.
Follow the steps here to create a local account on your PC: Create a local user or administrator account in Windows - Microsoft Support
Now, login to the new account and then try to install the printer and check.
Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand the driver is unavailable message appears after installation,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you attempted to reinstall the driver from the HP Website or the HP application?
While you respond to that, here's what I recommend you do:
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click here to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it.
Let me know how that pans out

Hello, @jmatt1
I see that you were interacting with @Riddle_Decipher. He is out of office and I'd like to help 🙂
Click here to download and install the printer drivers: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL61222/mp-147801-1/EN4520_Basicx64_1122.exe
If this does not help, then try to install the printer using the Windows driver update.
First, open Windows Device Installation Settings and confirm that your computer is set to automatically download driver software.
- Search Windows for Change Device Installation, and then click the Change device installation settings Control Panel setting in the list of results.
- Device Installation Settings window displays.
- Select the Yes option, and then click Save Changes.
Now, follow the steps listed under step 3 here: http://hp.care/2oSqtTW
Let me know how that goes!
Cheers 🙂
