Hi,
I am using:
Laptop HP Pavilion G6-2017SP
[edit]
Windows 10 64X
it has been a tough fight for the past days, I have seen blue screens with several diferent messages, from memory management to kernel, etc.
I decided to fix the problems and at the same time refresh the Laptop. So it has Brand new RAM and SSD.
I tried several stress tests and windows tool to identify the problem. At this moment I think the problem relates to drivers. At the HP page for drivers there aren't windows 10 drivers, and I went to the manufacturers websites to find the proper drivers.
I am also running Speccy as the Fans are usually working hard and loud. After a fresh install of windows 10, the CPU temperatures wre around 60c in iddle. After I updated the AMD Radeon HD 7670M driver from the website, a new blue screen came up when I restarted. After that the Laptop temperatues are higher .
Questions:
-What are the normal temperatues for CPU and GPU with no programs open?
-On Device manager, under graphics card, is it suppose to have "Intel HD graphics 4000", and "AMD Radem HD 7600M series" drivers?
-Am I not supposed to be using windows 10 on this Laptop?
- Can HP provide all the windows 10 drivers?
It seems to me that when I go to Windows update, Device manager and update the every driver manually there is some kind of conflict. The temperature is higher i think, and i get blue screen often, as well as 2/3sec black screens ocasionally. After many tests for the last 5 days, It seems to me that with new hardware, fresh windows install, i notice diferences in temperature and blue screens relate to the install of drivers.
Can someone help me to make this laptop function?
Thanks
Rui Pereira

Hi:
Unfortunately your notebook is not supported by HP for W10 and no W10 drivers were ever released since your model missed the W10 driver support cutoff date of August 2013.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05195282
If your notebook only had the onboard Intel graphics, it probably wouldn't be an issue, but since your notebook has the Intel/AMD switchable graphics, you can only use the AMD graphics driver on your notebook's support page.
Since you don't have the right driver installed, and I don't think the one on your notebook's support page works on W10, that is why the GPU is running hot. If you allow that to continue, your notebook's graphics will become permanently damaged.
I suggest you go back to W7 if you have a way to do that.

First off, you should NOT be going to AMD to get laptop drivers, especially in the situation where you have Switchable Graphics -- because they are not designed for that. You need to use the HP drivers -- and that is a serious issue if HP does not have Win10 drivers.
Second, it appears that HP does NOT have Win10 drivers for your model, and while it does have Win8 drivers, those do not always work in Win10 -- but it's worth a try. So, I would go to this page, download all the Win8 drivers and see if they work: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-g6-Notebook-PC-series/5226244/model/524...
Good Luck
