Hi @SoftDev_Sumit,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If you're having trouble finding the webcam driver for your HP 15-ab031tx laptop on the HP website, it's likely because HP's driver support for older models or specific devices can sometimes be limited. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you find and install the correct driver for your webcam:

Steps to Resolve Webcam Driver Issues:

Check Device Manager for Existing Drivers:

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Look under Cameras, Imaging devices, or Sound, video and game controllers to see if the camera is listed.
  • If it's listed with a yellow triangle or under Unknown devices, right-click on it and select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software.

Install Generic Webcam Driver:

  • If no specific driver is found, you can try using the generic USB Video Device driver:
    • Right-click on the webcam in Device Manager.
    • Select Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
    • Choose USB Video Device and click Next to install.

Use Windows Update:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, then click Check for updates. Sometimes, Windows Update will automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Download and install HP Support Assistant if it’s not already installed. This tool can automatically detect your hardware and install any available drivers.
  • You can download it from the HP Support Assistant page.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @SoftDev_Sumit ,

Please find the remaining steps below.

Try Driver from Similar Models:

  • Sometimes, drivers from similar models in the same series can work. Look for drivers from similar HP Pavilion 15-ab0xx series laptops that have compatible hardware.

Check Windows Camera Privacy Settings:

  • Ensure that your camera is not being blocked by Windows privacy settings:
    • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
    • Make sure Allow apps to access your camera is turned on, and that the apps you want to use (like Camera or Zoom) are allowed access.

BIOS Settings:

  • Sometimes, the camera can be disabled in the BIOS/UEFI. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS settings (usually by pressing F10, Esc, or Delete during startup).
  • Look for any settings related to the camera under Security or Advanced and make sure it is enabled.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, or if you find that the camera hardware is defective, you may need to consider using an external USB webcam as a workaround. Or I recommend you contact phone support for more options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
