You're very welcome, Jimmy.
I already knew about the AMD graphics. I didn't realize you were missing the graphics driver, or I would have posted that driver for you the other day.
You need this driver for the PCI device...download, unzip and run the setup application from the first file listed at the link below.
There can be a few items labeled as unknown devices when the drivers aren't installed, so instead of me feeding you a bunch of drivers to try please post the hardware ID's for the two unknown devices, and I will post the drivers you need for those too.
Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID.
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/
It's getting mighty late in this neck of the woods, so I will post the links for you tomorrow morning after you post the hardware ID's.

Paul -- I used your link to get the PCI driver installed. Then I went into Device manager and discovered that I was missing the driver for the HP touch pad and the HP 3D DriveGuard.
I was able to find the link to the Win7 driver to the touch pad <HP download - sp65086> right away.
However for the 3D DriveGuard, the HP software download site only wanted to give me the driver for Win7. I did another search for a Win7 driver in this blog and found my quest answered in another solution. The Win7 driver for the HP 3D DriveGuard is <HP software download - sp71811>.
I am pretty happy camper. No missing or unidentified devices. I was able to turn the touchpad off and my machine is really running great.
Between my first venture into doing my own computer hardware building and software installations, hacking etc. in the mid-1980s until the end of the 1990s, I used to pull "all-nighters" quirte often. However, after the beginning of the new century, I haven't had to do it, UNTIL NOW> Over the past several weeks, I have stayed up until after mid-night and then gotten back up at 3:00 AM or 4:00 quite a few times to work on this laptop. Last night was, hopefully, the last time for a while. It has been a lot of fun, almost like the old days. However at 75, I am getting kind of old for this stuff.
Thanks again to you and the others for all of your help. Jimmy

Paul -- I would really like to mark my problem as solved. Giving thanks is something I have done over the years on my camera forum, motorcycle forum, etc.
I received the email below when I returned home a short time ago -

I thought maybe I was having a problem because Vivaldi is my default browser. For years I would occasionally run into the same kind of problem with Opera. So I jumped to IE and Chrome. Same thing -- no button, nothing. What giives? If you have some pull with the web master, maybe you can get me (and others, I am sure) some help.
Thanks again for all of your help.

Hi, Jimmy:
You did mark the problem as solved, where you posted your reply on the first page.
You can only mark one reply an entire discussion as solved, one time.
If you want to change your election to another reply which helped you the most, you can go to the reply you marked as solved, and on the right side of the reply marked solved you will see an Options drop down menu.
You can select 'Not the Solution" and then you will be able to reassign the solution to some other reply.
Paul
