Hi I think I may have bios problem 

I get no sound out of notebook speakers but plugin earphones work 

also my battery is detected but never gets charged even when pc is off but is plugged in that’s why I think bios is faulty 

I did update bios in the past and may be is not correct for my notebook 

now hp website doesn’t support this notebook and I don’t know what is correct bios

I can’t even get vista anymore and I never created restore disk but I still have original key

 

please help

I doubt it is a BIOS problem.

 

Anyway, here are the links to the BIOS update info and exe files for dv9700 notebooks with the Intel processors as well as the audio driver.

Thank you I will try as soon I’ll find little bit time 

the first link is about installing Video card it’s unrelated

are you sure this bios would be correct 

I was told before that bios needs to be specific for the model of a computer and there are so many similar models 

any idea about battery problem it only works with plugged in and does not charge battery
