Hi:
I doubt it is a BIOS problem.
Anyway, here are the links to the BIOS update info and exe files for dv9700 notebooks with the Intel processors as well as the audio driver.
BIOS update info file
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48024.html
Exe file:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48024.exe
Audio driver:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp38501-39000/sp38899.exe

Thank you I will try as soon I’ll find little bit time
the first link is about installing Video card it’s unrelated
are you sure this bios would be correct
I was told before that bios needs to be specific for the model of a computer and there are so many similar models
any idea about battery problem it only works with plugged in and does not charge battery
thax again

You're very welcome.
I have no idea how that link showed up there.
Here is the info file for the BIOS exe file I posted...

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with why the battery isn't charging.
