Dear hp support community, am having a problem with my AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics driver. It keeps showing ERROR CODE 43 after a windows update to windows 11. I tried installing a driver from hp official websites but it didn't solve the error. Please I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

Hi @Nova_200,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

Does the error appear immediately after startup, or only when you try to run certain apps/games?

Did Windows Update automatically install the graphics driver, or did you manually install one from HP/AMD?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  •  Uninstall and reinstall driver:
    1. Open Device Manager → expand Display adapters.
    2. Right-click AMD Radeon Vega 8 → Uninstall device (check “Delete the driver software” if available).
    3. Restart your laptop, then install the latest driver from either HP’s support site or AMD’s official site.
  •  Use AMD Adrenalin software: Download the latest AMD Adrenalin drivers directly from AMD’s website. Sometimes HP’s packaged drivers lag behind AMD’s updates.
  •  Rollback driver: In Device Manager, right-click the graphics adapter → Properties → Driver tab → Roll Back Driver. This can undo a problematic Windows Update.
  •  BIOS and chipset update: Check HP’s support page for your product ID (5SN63AV) and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. These can improve compatibility with Windows 11.

Error Code 43 usually means Windows has stopped the device because it reported problems often driver-related rather than hardware failure.

I hope this helps

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!
