HP Pavilion 16 inch Laptop PC 16-ag0000 (955U3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I just bought a 16" HP Pavilion laptop and I can't get the Edge browser to work on Windows 11.

The browser opens but doesn't load any pages.

I've tried repairing, clearing cache, etc. but nothing's working.

If anyone has had the same problem and knows how to fix it I'd really appreciate the advice.

Thanks!

Hi @Tristan71,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble with the Microsoft Edge browser on your new HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 11, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue of pages not loading.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Find Windows Store Apps and click Run to detect and fix issues.

Repair Microsoft Edge:

  • Navigate to Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Locate Microsoft Edge, click the ellipsis (three dots), and select Modify. Then click on Repair to attempt a fix.

Reset Edge Settings:

  • Open Edge, click on the ellipsis in the upper right corner, go to Settings, and then select Reset settings. Choose Restore settings to their default value. This resets Edge without deleting your passwords or history.

Clear Cache and Cookies:

  • In Edge, go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services. Scroll down to Clear browsing data, and select Choose what to clear. Clear cached images, files, and cookies.

Check for Conflicting Software:

  • Sometimes antivirus or other software can interfere with Edge. Temporarily disable any antivirus software to see if it resolves the issue.

Update Windows:

  • Ensure that Windows is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • A simple restart can often fix unexpected issues with applications and services.

If these steps don’t resolve the problem, consider reinstalling Edge completely. You can download the latest version from the Microsoft Edge website if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

It turned out to be the Antivirus Smart Firewall. It's fixed now.

Thank you so much for your help!
