EliteBook 840 G5 battery (calibration) issue

Hi!

I have an EliteBook 840 GS with a battery calibration issue. I'm not sure my computer charges the battery fully, and, uses it fully.

I get the charge to 100% and when on battery power, the percentage drops quite significantly and I believe it jumps from about 44% to 7% and asks me to shut down the computer. I would guess the battery holds about 1h30m of power.

Now you would say, that my battery needs replacement. The funny thing is, I've tried three batteries, two of them brand new, and it's all the same.

I can't seem to start the battery calibration. When doing it from Windows, the test asks for a restart and then boots to Windows as normal. When doing the calibration from BIOS, waiting for 6h, plugging it in, waiting etc, it keeps acting the same.

With either old or new or new new battery, the "current battery capacity" shows always 44Whr (instead of the 50).

What gives?
