Thanks again for the reply.

Just to clarify:

  1. The values I mentioned (mWh levels) are not only coming from Windows tools – I’ve also:
    • Calibrated the battery
    • Used the UEFI hardware diagnostics (F2 outside Windows)
    • Observed charging behavior directly in BIOS

  2. In all of these situations, the battery charged past 80% of full charge capacity.
So this is not just a Windows reporting issue.
  3. Regarding Smart Charging:
    • I’ve checked the system tray and battery settings in Windows 11
    • There is no heart symbol, and no Smart Charging option is enabled
    • HP Power Manager is currently not installed

So I believe we can rule out Smart Charging or any software-side override.

The BIOS setting “Maximize Battery Health” is still active, but charging continues up to 100% of the full charge capacity (currently ~41,600 mWh), and not the expected 80% (~33,200 mWh).

Would it help if I uploaded a screenshot of the BIOS battery setting and the actual battery level as it charges beyond the limit?

I'm sorry, but I don't think I can help any further. This is the first time I've seen a case like yours. All I can recommend is that you update your BIOS.
