Elitebook 840 G5 and 120W Thunderbolt G2 Dock ...USBs on Dock Do Not Work

The USBs on the Thunderbolt dock using Elitebook 840 G5 do not work. Appears USB will power the device. 
Tried updating firmware but it doesn't install. Fails.
Tried using HP Support Assistant.

When I initially tried HP Support Assistant, there wasn’t a Thunderbolt download.

Found this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05976754
Installed it, the thunderbolt download appeared in HP Assistant.

Hit the download for Thunderbolt, received a restart message

Restarted laptop.

Thunderbolt still not there. USBs still don’t work.
