Recently I bought my work laptop after it ended the lifecycle at my company. It's an EliteBook 840 G6 that I've been using for the past 4 years.
I got it with Windows 10 21H2 from my IT dept and promptly upgraded to Windows 11 Pro 23H2.
Because some of the features weren't blocked anymore, I was also able to update the BIOS to the latest version (dec. 2023).
I hoped that after the machine was reset by my IT dept, I will be able to activate the fingerprint sensor to use as a login method, but it doesn't seem to work.
In Device Manager there is no "biometrics" entry and no Unknown device that misses a driver. I wasn't able to find any setting in the BIOS either to activate or deactivate the fingerprint sensor.
Also, the keyboard is not lighting up anymore.
Are these know issues for this laptop/BIOS version?
Is there anything I can do to fix them?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
