My EliteBook 8460p has been having power problems and I'm hoping someone could help me diagnose them. I believe that both the charging cord and the battery work fine, but they both seem to give me problems. When I plug it in, sometime it won't turn on. I've found that sometimes it doesn't even recognize that it's plugged in when the battery is in, so it runs off of battery until that runs out, then it dies. Then I can't get it to boot back up unless I take the battery out, but sometimes even this doesn't work, so I just let it sit and come back a few hours later when it will boot up. Because it still has issues with the battery removed, I don't think that the battery is the problem. I suppose that the power cord could be the problem, but what I'm wondering is if this could be something in the software that either doesn't recognize that it's plugged in or recognizes it and just doesn't pull any power from the cord. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.
