It's not likely a hardware issue nor does your email usually have anything to do with your brand of computer.

You need to start looking "elsewhere".

For example,

Using Outlook??

Check Microsoft Office Support - nothing in the world can tangle itself into knots quite like Outlook.  Check the obvious support and then ask at the Microsoft Community.

Using web based email like Yahoo or Gmail?

Look for help online - either peruse the 'net or go directly to the support groups for the mail service.

Using Windows Mail?  This is Windows territory (not computer brand based)

Check for help with Windows Mail - how it's used, how to manage, what to do with it.

Simplify your email with the Windows Mail app

and

Set up email in the Mail app for Windows 10

One thing that may be tripping the mail you are using is how you have set up the security for your email account.  For example, not all applications support two-step verification - and if they do, you may have to use "apps password" to let the mail open and receive / send mail through that application.
