Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Seeking BIOS update or similar to enable USB C charging on Model 15s-eq1096AU.

After going out of town and forgetting my AC charger, I read on HP website that HP laptops with USB C are able to be charged through this port.

I have purchased a USB C charger, however it not charge the laptop (works fine on other devices).

I have a work laptop that charges off of AC and via USB C. I would like this laptop to do the same.

How do I enable this function?

The specs of your machine is

         https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06699600

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

Regards.
