I am really upset to discover the HP DISABLED access to the Advanced tab in the BIOS on the 1-by0062cl Notebook (I assume this applies to all of them or at least all in my location -- it can't just be my one notebook!). This DISABLEment effectively prevents Vizualisation being enabled via the BIOS (note that the System Information informs that the notebook is compatible with Vizualisation). Reputedly, there is a method to enable Vizualisation without accessing the BIOS, though there are very few mentions of this anywhere on the internet and they all seem to be copies of one original. The method is described as:
Navigate to the Security tab and press Enter on CPU Setup
Select Intel(R) Virtualization Technology and press Enter
Choose Enable and press Enter
Press Enter to select Yes to save the settings and Boot into Windows
Nobody mentions where the "Security tab" is. The only one I know of is found in folder windows. So I opened "My Computer" (the highest level folder) and clicked on the Security tab. I then CANNOT locate "CPU Setup" so I can't click on it and that means I cannot set up Vizualisation. I did check the Advanced Tab but the same problem exists, I cannot locate "CPU Setup", If that is the wrong "Security tab", then I have no idea where the correct one is.
So, would some kind soul please explain, in detail, exactly how I can enable Vizualisation WITHOUT accessing the BIOS.
Many thanks to anyone able to assist.
(And my suggestion to HP, who I used to work for, is that it is NOT fair to sell IT equipment that you have DELIBERATELY DISABLED without ensuring that the potential customer knows that you are selling them crippled technology! 😡).
