ENVY x360 - 15-cn1004nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

two days ago I bought HP ENVY x360 - 15-cn1004nw and I have a problem with touchpad. I installed lastest driver (Synaptics TouchPad 19.5.35.41 Rev.D). When I`m trying to move my pointer just a little, it keeps coming back to its previous place. It drives me crazy, because I have to be careful (for example) not to close windows, or open wrong files that are close to the file I want. When I uninstalled this driver there is no problem, but without this driver I`m not able to for example use scrolling. I also tried to reinstall Windows 10 but it didn`t help.

Here`s my video I recorded to show how it looks like: video

Can anyone help?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,  I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Let's try these steps:

  • On your, Key Board press Windows key + X
  • Press M to open Device Manager
  • Expand "Mice and other pointing devices".
  • Right-click on the current Synaptics Touchpad driver
  • Click Properties
  • Click on the Driver tab
  • Click on Rollback driver if the option is available

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I’ve tried installing previous versions of touchpad driver but it didn’t help. I’ve also tried installing drivers from envy dr-0003nw and still the same result.

Thank you for posting back.

Let's try the next step:

Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: ( do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating )

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open the HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Yeah, I tried every single option connected with updating, reinstalling and installing previous versions of touchpad driver but it didn’t work. I’ve tried phone support and ended up sending my laptop to repair so now I have to wait for repair report.
