Erratic Behavior of W10 OS

My Laptop is behaving very erratic. Different programs eg. Word, Excell, PDF reader, Access, and many others would come on  and start on their own will, without any request from me. I have recently updated W10. I also viewed the HP support Assistant Web page and tried to troubleshoot. I did a performance  Tune-up check and an Operating System Check, but neither helped. I also updated the display graphic drivers, this seemed to help for a short while, but the Ghost returned 1/2 hour later. The Ghost random programs continue to show up unexpectedly. I am at a total loss in what else to do. It is very difficult to write a document when these programs keep showing up. Could you please suggest any help or ideas.  Thank you very much.

Do a deep clean first, then perhaps research the command

sfc /scannow

as it may help.
