Do not use that HP PC Diagnostic app for bios update

There are at least two versions of your bios that are designed for different ROM SSID

reference this windows 11 software

Family SSID 886B  This has no worthwhile update since F.11

-and-

Family SSID 886C  This has no worthwhile update since F.15

each ROM family has versions also as I listed

Use the latest HPSA to find the correct bios but even some uses have bricked their system with a recommended update.

Have you run diagnostics?
Tap the ESC key after powering on to run diagnostics.
Do not allow any updates if disk or memory fail, especially a BIOS update.

It is always dangerous to upgrade bios. Unless there is a real need and the HP support assistant requests the upgrade, I would not do it. Look at the BIOS revision history (I posted above) and see if an upgrade is useful. Updates that improve security are needed in a corporate environment but for gaming system they will likely slow down your system.
I personally would not upgrade any gaming BIOS that was only security related unless the PC was used in a corporate, industrial or military organization.

Check your warranty and decided if you want to risk a BIOS upgrade like these users did

Use the UEFI diagnostics when booting

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Expand the'+'symbol and click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.

HP PC diagnostics you used was 2.6.2.0 which is the latest.

The latest HP Support assistant is 9.33.28.0 (USA English)

Does it show the same "cancel" message?

It is possible the "canceled" message is due to a file corruption or a required component that is older than the HP application.

Try running the Microsoft system file checker

SFC and DISM are both tools that scan and repair corrupted system files. However, SFC uses a cached version of the files, while DISM uses the internet to download and fix the files.

Try the SFC first and if that gives a message that it cannot fix the problem then try the DISM tool.
