Error installing Support Assistangt

Attempting to upgrade Support Assistant v9 in a Windows 11 - Home operating environment.

When attempting to install  - 7ZSetup SFX the following error is displayed ' HP Support Solutions Framework ( 13.0.1.131) was not installed successfully - an error occurred during installation (-3)

The OS - is Windows 11 Home - v23H2

Home can I clear all Support Assistant software and re-install anew.

I understand you are trying to clear all HP Support Assistant software and reinstall it on your HP ENVY x360, follow these steps:
 

1. Uninstall HP Support Assistant

• Open Settings by pressing Windows + I or by clicking on the Start menu and selecting Settings.
• Go to Apps > Installed Apps.
• In the search box, type HP Support Assistant.
• Click the three dots next to it and select Uninstall.
• Follow the prompts to remove the application completely.

2. Remove Leftover Files (Optional but Recommended)

• Open File Explorer and navigate to the following locations to ensure all leftover files are removed:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\
  • C:\ProgramData\HP\
• If any HP Support Assistant-related files are still there, delete them.

3. Clear Registry Entries (Optional)

• Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
• Type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
• Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HP and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HP and delete any entries related to HP Support Assistant (if present). Be cautious while editing the registry. Incorrect changes may affect system stability.

4. Restart Your Computer

• Restart your computer to ensure that all changes take effect.

5. Download and Reinstall HP Support Assistant

• Go to the HP Support Assistant download page and click Download now.  HP Support Assistant
• After downloading the installer, run it and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

This process should help you perform a clean installation of HP Support Assistant.
