F28 bios update

i have a compaq presario V5000 note book running windows 7 sp 1 home premium.

i keep getting the message that there is a bios update(F28) for my notebook, but there is never any place to get it or to install it .  The link to this update from HP ino longer works . does anyone have the bios update ,or a download link for it that works so i can update the bios in this notebook? I bought this unit and 5 more identical to it as surplus ,they were in the original boxes and had never been opened or started up.  all iensed ve done to it is bought a new licensed copy of windows 7 sp1 and install it. Can anyone help me to find the bios update for F 28?

Hi:

I can only find that F.24 was the last BIOS update and that is the newest one on HP's driver FTP site.

It can only be run using Windows Vista.

It is possible that there were issues with that BIOS version, and HP removed it from the support site.

In any event, HP has retired that model series and removed the support page for it.

thank you for your reply. I understand what your saying. But, this machine went from the original xp pro operating system to windows 7 sp 1 32 bit , and here's some thought to ponder, it runs the Aero features as well without incident  it is using the mobile 945 G chip set with the WDDM 1.0 driver,even media center runs well in it. Works fine with the exception that it is a bit slow with the F24 bios . Seems it has to think about things a bit longer before it does them.

As i said ,this was a brand new un opened un used note book when i bought it and the others, so even though it is a 2007 model it was never turned on till i got it.  For what it is it does very well. I planned on using it with my printers and camer equipment as it also came with the mobile 12 volt power supply as well as the A/C power adapter. Even though the F24 was the last update for this, I would like to try to install the F28 ,and if it doesn't go well , i would re-install the F24 and call it good !  So with that said, if you know of or have a download link that works for F28 i would greatly appreciate it very much. Never hurts to try, as the Staples tech said, "you can't run windows 7 in that unit" but yet here we are . lol
