I factory reset my hp pavilion laptop and when I try and find my wifi it doesn’t show up. I’m guessing I don’t have the driver and I need help. I don’t know how to download them back.

Hi @Vexbvc19

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it must feel after completing a factory reset and then not being able to connect to Wi‑Fi. You’ve already taken a big step by resetting the system, so let’s carefully bring your Pavilion back to full functionality.

Here are the steps you can follow:

Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand “Network adapters.”
  • If you only see “Virtual Network Adapter” or “Ethernet,” it means the wireless driver is missing.

Download the Wireless Driver

  • On another device with internet access, visit the official HP Software and Drivers page:
    https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
  • Enter your Pavilion model number in the search box.
  • Select your operating system (Windows 10 or 11).
  • Under “Driver-Network,” download the latest Wireless LAN driver.

Transfer and Install

  • Copy the downloaded driver to your Pavilion using a USB drive.
  • Run the installer and restart your laptop once installation completes.

Enable Wi‑Fi

  • After restart, press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Network & Internet > Wi‑Fi and ensure it is turned on.
  • Your available networks should now appear.

You’ve already shown patience and persistence by troubleshooting this far. Once the correct driver is installed, your Pavilion should feel alive again with the familiar list of Wi‑Fi networks glowing on the screen.
