Hello,
I just have bought this laptop and having a fatal error "Object reference not set to instance of an object" each time I start HP connection manager.
I need this application in order to subscribe to my HP Mobile Connect Pro service...
I try to follow the solution proposed in http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Fatal-error-in-HP-Connection-Man... unsuccessfully.
Any help / suggestion to solve the issue?
Thank you.

For those that have the same issue and that cannot susbcibe to teh service, just ignore the error popup message and continue to the subscribe process (make sure to have the whole window displayed). You should normally end the process and after reboot connect to the service using standard network service provided by windows 7 in place of the buggy HP connection manager applications.

I'm also having the same problem. My device is a HP Zbook u15 just bought a day ago. Out of the box the manager works fine but after the first two sets of updates from microsoft the error occurs. I've tried to set the machine back with the recovery manager but after the first two sets of updates again the same error. So my first guess it's one of the updates that is causing it.

So it sounds a parameter value has changed, has been reset or has been deleted during the update process. Then HP connection manager tries to get invalid (misofrmed) or absent (deleted) data. Anyway, I think that HP should provide a fix for this case....

Good morning
Is there still not a solution for the problem?! It is really annoying.
I have a Zbook 15u G3 and after updating it has the same exact issue.
I'm assuming no one is actually reading these posts which is a bit sad coming from a company like HP.
Thank you

I have the same issue after installing .NET Framework 4.6.1, which is required for other software on my laptop. It was working fine with .NET Framework 4.5.2.
HP - Any help here?

The solution for me was actually ignoring the update on microsoft net framework 4.6.1 and return to the older version, but that isn't future proof obviously. I won't update it untill the connection manager app is truly fixed, as I need to connect the mobile lte connection through it.
It is rather weird and a bit sad that no one from HP manifests about the problem.
