Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Lately, I have been having an issue with File Explorer where I CAN NOT rename photos. It stops responding, and then my screen goes black for about 20 seconds, and when it comes back on, everything on my taskbar is gone and it takes about 30 seconds for it to reappear.  I am not sure why this is happening, but it is super frusterating. I can do other things, like view and move my photos, but I can not rename them. Any ideas?
