Hi @pc_user3,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Check the Recycle Bin
First, check if the files are in the Recycle Bin:
- Open the Recycle Bin from the desktop or using the search bar.
- Look for the deleted files and folders. If found, right-click and select Restore.
2. File History
If you have File History enabled, you might be able to recover the deleted files:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Backup.
- Select More options > Restore files from a current backup.
- Navigate to the folder that contained the deleted files to restore them.
3. Previous Versions
Windows creates restore points periodically which can include previous versions of files:
- Right-click on the folder where files were deleted and select Properties.
- Go to the Previous Versions tab.
- Select a version from the list and use Restore.
4. HP Recovery Manager
Many HP laptops come with HP Recovery Manager:
- Search for HP Recovery Manager in the Start menu.
- Follow the prompts to recover your files if the option is available.
5. Data Recovery Software
If the above methods don't work, data recovery software can help:
- Use a reliable data recovery tool such as Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery, or Disk Drill.
- Install and run the software to scan your drive for deleted files.
- Follow the prompts to recover your files.
I hope this helps.
