Find out date of manufacture of my laptop, which has NO labels or numbers on the bottom.

I bought a used HP 2000-2029 WM laptop.  It has no stickers or stamped numbers anywhere on it.  How do I find the year of manufacture?

Hi:

Go into the BIOS (F10) and it should have the model number, product number and serial number.

The serial number provides the year and week of manufacture.

The 4th, 5th and 6th characters of the serial number will always be numbers.

4th = year of mfr

5th & 6th = week of mfr

For example:

If the 4th, 5th and 6th characters of the serial number are 234

2 = 2012

34 = 34th week of 2012 (the week of Aug 20 - 26).
