HP Envy DV6
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Hi,

I recently formatted my Envy DV6, installed Windows 8 as was originally installed however I am no longer able to use my fingerprint scanner to access my notebook, i have to type in my passwprd each time.

I have lost the original HP CD which i assume has all the HP specific drivers in it.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi:

See if this works...install the fingerprint sensor driver and restart the PC.

This package contains the driver that enables the Validity Fingerprint Sensor in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The fingerprint sensor scans fingerprints for use with biometric security applications.

Then install the simplepass software, restart the PC and use that to enroll your fingerprint.

This package contains the HP SimplePass Identity Protection 2011 Software for the supported notebook models and operating systems. This software protects identity information and account access using the computer owner's fingerprint.
