Hold on my friend, we haven't found the solution yet. :Wink:

Unfortunately, HP stopped supporting your model at Windows 8.

There are no drivers for Windows 10.

I did find another thread with a work around that most others found useful.

It involved installing the fingerprint driver from another brand computer. Either Lenovo or Dell, depending on which fingerprint sensor is installed in your laptop.

You will have to read through the thread to the end to see if it will work.

Do let me know how it turns out.

Thanks.

One other thing, if you can find the Hardware ID # of the fingerprint sensor in the Device Manager, Someone here might be able to find a driver thats compatible from HP.

@Paul_Tikkanenwould this be possible?

Hi, @Balasubramonian :

I can only guess without knowing the hardware ID for the fingerprint sensor.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

I cross-referenced your notebook with a HP business notebook that has similar hardware.

It has support for W8.1, so see if this W8.1 fingerprint sensor driver works on your model...There will not be one for W10.

This package contains the driver that enables the Validity Fingerprint Sensor in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The fingerprint sensor scans fingerprints for use with biometric security applications.

Then use the W10 simplepass software to enroll your fingerprint.

This package contains the HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software for the supported notebook models and operating systems. This software protects identity information and account access using the computer owner's fingerprint.
