Fingerprint sign in / windows hello not working

Envy 13 aq0009na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Updated to windows 10 version 2004 a few weeks ago and fingerprint was working fine but since yesterday windows hello has said biometrics are unavailable. Tried reinstalling drivers/ restarting computer  - no luck. 


Hoping for a update/fix ASAP

(I have checked windows update)

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

  • Right-click on Windows key and select Device Manager.
  • Locate the Hello, webcam, and fingerprint drivers individually and right-click on each of them.
  • Repeat the removal with all Windows Hello related drivers and then reboot your PC.
