I had to replace the disc drive in my desktop but the only one I could find that worked was an HP GT20L (from a laptop). It plays CD and DVD but when I try to burn it tells me it either doesn't detect or I don't have access to it. Is there firmware or drivers to fix this issue?

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

If you did not have the correct firmware or drivers for the optical drive, it would not play CDs or DVDs.

The problem is with the app you are using to do burning -- and we don't have the resources here to debug application problems.

I used a driver updater and it's working now. Thanks!
